An analytical model describes the relationship between twist blockage and yarn. Yarn tension and the wrapping angle over the yarn guide affect twist blockage. Because oscilations in yarn tension and wrapping angle occur simultaneously, the yarn twist reproduces itself through the guide in surges, which may cause large variances in twist and increase end breaks during spinning. As the coefficient of friction between the yarn and guide increases, twist blockage also increases. The geometry and surface configuration of the guide can control the level of twist difference before and after the guide. The yarn torsional rigidity has a more significant effect on twist blockage when the yarn torsional rigidity is low.
