Japanese company, Kanebo Spinning Corp, has developed a translucent voile cotton/polyester fabric for summer apparel applications. It exhibits a light, soft handle and special finishing gives it superior pleatability and wrinkle resistance. The plan is to use the new fabric in women's dresses and brouses and men's shirts. The cotton used is long staple Egyptian, and the polyester is 0.5den staple, blended 75:25.
