this volume contains the papers presented at the conference. the topics covered are: role of testing laboratory in cotton selection; blending of cotton with man-made fibers; yarn quality and productivity at ring frames; and study of traveller action at ring frames. it also includes the reports of three study groups: effect of short processing on yarn quality and performance study of modern drafting systems at the ring frame; comparative performance of direct and rewound weft in ordinary (non-auto) looms; and study of warp and weft tensions at the loom. a report from the productivity study team on the cotton textile industry sponsored by the national productivity council to visit ussr and czechoslovakia is also appended
