this article is intended to stimulate ideas on the part of those responsible for quality control. accordingly it is not proposed to give the latest catalog of the usual testing instruments and quality control procedures nor is judgement passed on commercial testing equipment. instead the interactions between the cause and effect are examined that govern all spinning operations. every day the mill management must cope with the various influences of raw material, available equipment, applied process technology, environment and the associated problems of human labor. moreover the prerequisites and effects are liable to change from one day to another
