Zellweger Uster's Uster Tester 4 (UT 4) modular yarn evenness testing machine features a new capacitive sensor that offers 10 percent more accuracy in testing staple fiber yarns. Two optical sensors measure such parameters as seed coat fragments, yarn shape, and yarn diameter. The UT 4-SX records and stores all data for report generating and long term analysis. The feature for mapping imperfections in test diagrams supports the interpretation of test results and allows differentiation between imperfections caused by raw materials or machines. The QualiProfile feature visually represents the quality of a specific yarn compared with the yarn quality required by a particular customer. Zellweger Uster also offers the UT 4-SE evenness testing device for small manufacturers and the UT 4-CX evenness testing device for manmade fibers.
