Ring spinning machines modified with compact spinning components ensure yarn quality during the spinning of long staple fibers into fine yarns. A fourth pair of rollers follows a three roller double apron drafting mechanism. After the drafted sliver leaves the third pair of rollers, it rests on an apron driven by the fourth pair of rollers. The open suction slot on a hollow return rail profile below the apron draws air through holes on the apron. The system eliminates the reduced strength of the spinning triangle relative to the twisted segment of the yarn, thereby reducing the end breakage ratio. Improved fiber entanglement reduces hairiness by an average of 13 percent.
