Lyocell regenerated cellulose fibres are discussed and the ring spinning and rotor open-end spinning of these fibres in blends with cotton is examined. The use of Lyocell fibres tends to reduce manufacturing costs. High spinning speeds can be achieved on ring and rotor spinning machines. For finer yarns and a rotor diameter of 30-32 mm speeds of 125 000 min￣¹and twist factors of 115-120 are possible.
