Automated sliver piecing up for improved quality in cotton spinning (German)

The automated can transport systems industrially produced to date require a manual operation as a rule - manual rubbing - in piecing up sliver again into the process. This is not only practised in piecing up sliver prior to another process but also in repairing sliver breaks. This operation is a non-reproducible process, which can have an adverse effect on the quality produced, and also results in loss of efficiency due to increased machine downtime. Automation concepts are presented and evaluated in this article.
