YARN FORMING -- GLOBAL STRENGTH IN SPINNING AND WINDING.

In today's climate of ultra-high speed spinning and winding, two factors have had dominant influences on the development of fiber preparation machines: the production of spinning-ready fibers exhibiting the highest levels of uniformity, and the production of strength characteristics calculated to ensure reliable performance in both yarn formation and subsequent manufacturing. German machines in the fiber-to-yarn package sector are examined. Integrated process information systems; new levels of productivity and precision in fiber-to-sliver processes; savings in waste, space, and labor in combing preparation; and developments in ring spinning, rotor spinning, and cone winding are discussed.
