Technical difficulties that were encountered and production parameters that were used for spinning Nomex-aramid fibers into 32.8 and 14.8 Tex yarns using cotton system machinery are described. Procedures and machine settings for precarding, carding, drawing, and spinning are specified. The density, strength, elongation, imperfections, and appearance of the resulting single and double yarns are examined. 16 refs.
