Process automation integrates materials handling, plant operation, optimization of product quality, and economic optimization. In spinning, materials handling is generally automated, except in bale handling and can transportation. Truetzschler has developed the Blendomat BDT 019 for bale handling and the Canny-One for can transportation. Automation in plant operation includes the LVS Condenser, the Securomat Metal Eliminator, the ASTA Heavy Part Separator, the TV fan, the MMG Multiple Mixer, the Cleanomat CVT4, and the Dustex DX Dedusting Machine. Computerized, online quality control has led to the optimization of product quality and cost optimization. The use of the KIT Card Information System and the PLS Process Management System illustrate this optimization. 5 refs.
