The Kondo-Bo company of Japan has opened one of the world's most modern CIM ring spinning mills for combed cotton yarn. The mill's central computer automatically supervises, controls, and optimizes nearly every spinning process. The heart of the system is an Uster Sliverdata installation, which controls sliver weight deviation, evenness, and periodic faults on 97 machines. Sliverdata can detect up to six machine faults automatically and an additional 77 machine faults manually.
