Researchers developed a computer program to perform spin plan calculations. The study used various machine parameters and production capacities as input parameters and the number of machines and accessories required for a target production quantity as the output parameters of the spin plan calculations. The computer program allowed operators to determine a spin plan that used the lowest cost labor and minimum time and determined the number of sides to be allocated per worker at any end breakage rate. Tables show machine parameters related to production capacity, machine output parameters related to production capacity, and the required accessories. 4 refs.
