Air jet and rotor spinning machines at the 1991 ITMA featured increased automation and a widening of the yarn count range. Air jet spinning machines exhibited higher production rates, with delivery speeds of up to 300 meters per minute. Automation in air jet and rotor spinning did not stop at the spinning process, but included auxiliary processes such as bobbin replacement, piecing-up, doubling, machine monitoring, and machine control, Rotor spinning and auxiliary equipment by Schubert + Salzer, Elitex Cerveny Kostelec, and Savio is described.
