It is essential to control fly liberation and fluff accumulation in spinning mills, not just the sake of workers' health but also to maintain yarn quality. Some useful measures to control fly and fluff generation are discussed. As well as remedies for inadequate moisture in cotton which causes fly liberation, several measures to control fluff accumulation are outlined. These include the use of infra-red lamps at creel region and drafting zone, floating condensers at speedframe, treatment of top Roller cots with Sulphuric acid, and use of an overhead travelling cleaner at Ringframe.
