Yarn fineness, diameter, and twist

A new mathematical model for description of the relationship between yarn fineness twist and yarn diameter is presented. This model take into consideration the relationship between force and deformation due to fibre material compression, but on the other hand simplifies the problem so that the results can be easily applied in practice. A good agreement between this model and experimental results were achieved. Application possibilities are discussed and a calculation example is presented.
