It is found that the breaking force increases with all staple fibre yarn, with an increasing testing speed. This increase depends primarily on the type of fibre and with blend yarns, on the percentage component of synthetic fibres. The breaking elongation can either increase or decrease with increasing testing speed. With elongation and with some type of yarns, there is initially a slight increase then at around 5000mm/min a decrease/increase in elongation. The amplitude of load-elongation curves increases with the test speed.
