The Suessen SC 1-M compact spinbox features a large trash trough fitted with the SweepCat oscillating device to avoid heavy fly contamination of the spinning machine. The SweepCat functions like a snow plough to remove the dirt extracted at the individual spinning positions and improve yarn quality, reduce end breaks, and provide greater machine operating efficiency. The SCN-1 also features a fixed fiber beard support. Although the fixed fiber beard support offers only slightly better results in laboratory tests, in commercial operations it provides up to 50 percent fewer end breaks, 50 percent fewer clearer cuts, improved machine efficiency, and fewer variations in yarn quality.
