There are many ways of producing stretch core yarns, such as air-jet or ring spinning methods. This article discusses the methods of construction for the foremost materials which are used to produce both hard core and soft core yarns, concentrating on the effects of different types of short polyester fibres when they are used to cover a polyester core. These yarns are known as poly-polyp-cores.
