Fibre to yarn relationships - a practical perspective

Several studies, which are surveyed in this article, have mapped the relationship of yarn quality to raw material quality. This paper reports on the results from a statistical survey of yarn quality that is achieved practically by spinning mills from given fibre properties. The results of this study are seen as useful for mills as a benchmark for effective raw material selection and process optimisation, as well as for textile researchers in the field of yarn engineering.
