The Suessen ParfiL spinning system manufactures parallel staple yarns via wrap spinning. A continuous filament wrapping spiral holds together the untwisted, parallel fibers. The straight yarn path, elimination of rings and travelers, and low air resistance maximize spindle speeds. The addition of optical devices facilitates the manufacture of such specialty yarns as boucle, loop, and colored effect yarns. Output exceeds that of conventional ring spindles by a factor of five while reducing power consumption. The ability to spin yarns with fewer fibers in the cross section permits the manufacture of finer yarn counts. A significant decrease in yarn hairiness reduces dust, fly, and fabric pilling.
