Combing machines, drawing machines, and air treatment and humidification systems shown at ITMA 1999 included Rieter's E 72 combing machine that reduces neps, thick places and thin places; Toyoda's VC5 combing machine that operates at speeds of up to 360 nips per minute; Marzoli's MC1-A that operates at speeds of up to 350 nips per minute on a sliver of 80 ktex; Trutzschler's HSR 1000 drawing machine that operates at speeds of up to 1,000 meters per minute; and Vouk's Unimax single delivery drawing machine that features an autoleveling device and a quality monitor. Electro-Jet, Ernst Jacobi GmbH, and U.T.I.T. Wagner demonstrated transportation systems. LTG Air Engineering's Versa Drum filter system uses only 1 square meter of floor space. Defensor's ABS2 system uses a rotating disc to form an ultrafine water spray.
