The increase in installed ring spindles and open end rotors since 1967 has been accompanied by a growth in short-staple spinning capacity. The numbers of ring spindles and open end rotor spinning machines installed in Asia, Africa, the America's, and the EC in 1987 are illustrated along with the changes in the numbers of ring and rotor spinning machines installed in these countries between 1982 and 1987 and the changes in capacities.
