The computer blending technology developed at WRONZ has become a commercially viable system for producing blends for sale to New Zealand and other customers. A study of the length-after-carding properties of New Zealand wool resulted in the addition of new length parameter predictions by the CONVERT subroutine. The INVERT system for classification of wool types on the basis of objective measurements without subjective classification was added as an option to the existing blending software package. The blending software has been made more flexible by adding more database options that allow for various wool sources other than from New Zealand.
