Just-in-Time systems, automation, and the linking of processing stages are imperative to further improvements in semi-worsted spinning. The latest version of the Mackie System uses a finisher chaingill called the Rove Draw Finisher. This changill can be linked to a fully automated Ringtron ring spinning frame, which can be linked to automatic winders. Compared to a modern high-speed, semi-worsted system using cans, the linked system offers considerable savings in labor costs.
