A versatile laboratory effect-yarn spinning machine is described. Two different fiber types can be run at the same time because the machine features two segments, each with six spindles, which can have different swivel supports and different draft roller settings. Computer controlled setting enables large sample quantities, production of new effect-yarns, and optimal production settings to be accomplished quickly. All control parameters are controlled electronically by the SDE system.
