Blended polyester/cotton yarns (70/30 and 50/50) were spun on the DREF-3 friction spinning machine as well as on both ring and rotor spinning machinery. These yarns were then tested for resistance to abrasion and repeated extension. The samples varied in linear density and twist. Resistance to abrasion and repeated extension was low in friction-spun yarns in comparison to ring-spun and rotor-spun yarns. 20 refs.
