Although considerable work has been done on the hairiness of polyester blended yarn, not much work has been done on specific maintenance measures for reducing hairiness to a satisfactory level. These measures include centering spindles at more frequent intervals and with greater precision, application of ring cleaner/lubricant, and regular maintenance of travelers to reduce wear. 8 refs.
