Acrylic yarns composed of both shrinkable and non-shrinkable fibers were produced in three different spinning systems--ring, rotor, and SIRO. In all cases, mechanical properties and bulk characteristics were evaluated both before and after heat treatment. The effects of blending at the spinning stage and blending at the blowroom stage were compared. 4 refs.
