CMT, the International Wool Secretariat, and some spinning and dyeing companies in Biella have collaborated to develop a new backwashing and finishing machine for combed wool slivers. The design is aimed at high productivity and low operating and maintenance costs. Environmental pollution by effluents is limited by a short liquor ratio, high washing and squeeze action, and other modifications. Versatility and reliability are achieved through various measuring, monitoring, and controlling systems.
