The Andar-Wronz 36-end, two-channel Chemset machine uses a package process for chemically setting twist in carpet yarn. The Chemset machine allows simultaneous processing of two independent channels of coiled yarn. The yarn is set with sodium metabisulfite and hot rinsing, dried, and then wound onto packages ready for subsequent processing. The production capacity of the machine is 450 kilograms per hour. The creel supplies a maximum of 36 ends of yarn to the bowl line, 18 to each coiler. Tensioners and thread detectors control the flow of yarn to the wet treatment bowls. The wet yarn discharges from the bowl line into the Andar Unidryer with an evaporation capacity of 120 kilograms of water an hour, and then passes to accumulators and winders.
