Henkel KGaA's line of biodegradable lubricants are manufactured from renewable resources for fiber processing. The Henkel group consists of 160 companies operating in 55 countries manufacturing chemical products, household and industrial cleaners, cosmetics, and industrial adhesives. Its Selbana biodegradable lubricants use special fatty esters to improve fiber processability. The patented Selbana STB wool spinning lubricant achieves optimal friction values with only 3-4.5 percent add on. An oil mist reducing feature reduces textile mill air pollution. Screening tests, inherent biodegradability tests, simulation tests, and the Metabolite test determined the biodegradability of the Selbana line of lubricants.
