At ATME 2000 in Greenville, South Carolina, and at CITME in Beijing, Rieter's Spun Yarn Systems Business Group demonstrated a novel system for short staple fiber spinning, including blowroom machines that operate at low raw material consumption rates; the VarioSet reproducible cleaner ; the C51 high performance carding machine with automatic cylinder and flats grinding ; the E72 combing machine that operates at 400 nips per minute; and the RSB-D 30 drawing machine with accurate leveling at delivery speeds of 1,000 meters per minute. The Rieter G33 ring spinning machine features the SERVOgrip system for changing cops without underwinding. The R20 open end rotor spinning machine features integrated automation without starter windings.
