Ring Spun Cover, Core, and Siro Yarns: A Comparative Study.

Researchers compared the properties of ring spun cover yarns, core yarns, and SiroSpun yarns. The study used cotton roving and nylon filament to spin the different types of yarn. The introduction of filament yarns increased yarn denier, decreased yarn twist, and decreased the twist coefficient of variation. The cover spun yarn showed the greatest breaking strength. The actual twist per unit length of the core spun yarn decreased along with increased variations in yarn evenness. The cover spun yarn showed better and evenness, strength, adn elongation than the core spun and SiroSpun yarns.
