Many detailed innovations in the twisting sector were on display at ITMA '99. Saurer/Volkrann introduced the Trendtwister, a two-for-one machine equipped with an optical sensor and central data display. Savio of Italy displayed its Twist Master, also equipped with a fault-finding optical sensor. In the field of baloon-free twisters, Saurer/Harel exhibited its modified Tritec-Twister featuring reduced energy consumption. These and other innovations are reviewed in this article.
