As output is raised in the textile industry the stresses and strains placed on the fibers and yarns during production also increase. This can result in higher end break rates leading to reduced machine and production efficiencies. This adverse effect can, however, be avoided through a specific analysis of the weak points in the yarn. It is not sufficient simply to know that there are weak points in the yarn. It is much more important to know the reason for their presence so as to avoid their causes in future production. This article presents a special add-on module of the Uster Tensojet developed for weak point analysis of rotor yarns.
