Following a historical outline, an analysis of the viscose filament market and a forecast of the future outlook, the technologies for producing viscose filament are compared. The distinction is made between the discontinuous and the continuous spinning techniques, and the properties of the yarns produced by the two methods are analyzed. The HVS2 spinning machine from Nay-Vallesina is described, with reference to the three sections of spinning, treatment application and winding. The processing of the continuously spun yarn is also examined.
