Trutzschler of Germany and Barco, Belgium, have agreed to jointly develop a monitoring system for yarn spinning plants. The Kit system is designed to collect production and quality data for the connection of cards and draw frames. Under the agreement, the German firm will concentrate on teh machine's sensor technology and its network interfaces. Barco will develop the server software and the user interface, based on the Windows NT operating system. Trutzschler already has 200 Kit systems installed around the world.
