Spectacular spinning preparation equipment innovations were largely absent on the whole at ITMA '9 in Paris. Instead, continuous further development is recorded in terms of automation, ease of operation, product quality and production speeds. A survey of the developments in spinning preparation is provided below. The report on spinning machinery will then be concluded in the next issue. With 432 exhibitors, spinning machinery manufacturers were the most strongly represented among the special field exhibitors, and occupied a stand area of almost 52000 ㎡. The largest number of visitors (22,647 = 15.2%) was interested in spinning sector innovations.
