Calculating the effectiveness of reducing the noise from devices for the tanglelacing of filament yarns (Russian)

Details are given of a method whereby the noise from a tanglelacing process involving the production of carpet yarns is considerably reduced. A layer of mastic initially reduces the noise level by 14-15 dB. A further layer of acoustic insulation reduces noise by another 8-10 dB, and polyurethane foam is then used to lower the noise level to a level conforming with health standards.
