An overview of developments in spinning and twisting addresses a self locking brake for twisting and spinning machines and a centrifugal tube clutch for draw twisting machines. Spindelfabrik Neudorf GmbH's self locking spindle brake operates according to the eccentric principle. Although the brake is suited for size 5, 6, and larger bolsters, the brake diameter and height is adjustable to specific customer requirements. The centrifugal tube clutch compensates for diameter differences of approximately 2 millimeters, reducing the effects of bottling due to high tension during winding and improving doffing. Balls forced outward by centrifugal forces generated by the spindles ensure optimal tube centering.
