Huber + Suhner AG's Berkol automatic grinding machines provide automatic grinding of top rolls used in new spinning technologies. The top rolls used in Murata's air jet spinning machine are pressed individually onto metal shells. For automatic grinding of the covers, they can be pressed onto the ginding mandrel and removed after grinding by the Berkol press. Diameters can be decreased no more than 1 millimeter, which permits regrinding up to four times. Compact spinning includes the ComforSpin and EliTe spinning processes. Berkol grinding machines can be used with or without a measurement system to grind the top rolls of the K 40 ComforSpin machine. These rolls are 30 millimeters long and mounted on a shaft 170 millimeters long. The external dimensions of the top rolls used in Suessen's EliTe spinning are unconventional, but grinding ensures uniform diameter on the four covers of the feed and delivery top rolls.
