Sliver blending at the drawing machine or combing machine and blending in the blowroom via manual feeding and weighing in ring spinning mills does not efficiently blend more than two components or results in blends with very small proportions of one or more components. Automatic blending in the blowroom via belt weighing, weight pan, or automatic continuous dosing methods improves blending efficiency. Orbit rings facilitate blend spinning with manmade fibers on ring spinning machines at high speeds. The reduced yarn hairiness associated with compact spinning could facilitate blending in future applications. Integrated composite spinning with a continuous filament carrier in the core, extruded molten polymers, and staple fibers optimizes blend control for continuous filament core yarns. Other blending methods involve rotor, friction, air jet, wrap, and Siro spinning.
