The optimization of blending using computer methods is discussed. The objectives of blending are noted and the statistical parameters are considered. Fibre breaking strength is noted. The blending of wool fibres is considered in relation to computer programs. The impact of fibre tenacity and breaking elongation on the respective yarn properties is looked at.
