The TritecTwister twisting machine produced by the Swiss firm Saurer Textile Systems is presented. The machine can be used with a variety of fibres, long or short, natural or artificial in the range 15/2 270/2 Nm. It Produces twisted yarns at high velocities and with low yarn tension. The Tritec operates without a free ball since the yarn is placed on the internal surface to the rotating cylinder which produces a number of advantages including: no exposure of the yarn to air resistance, low level of tension, little fluff or dust, quick changeover time, perfect bobbin winding and very low level of yarn breakage.
