Tribological Aspect of Dynamic Deviations in Ring-Frame Twisting System due to Dynamic Malalignment of Spindle.

A research project addressed the dynamic disturbances and tribology resulting from the twisting system of a worsted ring spinning machine due to faulty spindle rotation. Researchers determined the forces for a three contact interaction between a J steel traveler and taper ring that acted on the traveler and yarn when the spindle axis deviated from the vertical so that its tip traced an ellipse or a circle . Faulty operation of the twisting system was detrimental to the interaction of the traveler/ring yarn system. The adverse effect increase with time and diminished system performance. 12 refs.
