An overview of the technological ad economic characteristics of different twisting systems describes the performance, productivity, initial investment, power consumption, wages, and conversion costs per kilogram of two for one twisting and ring doubler/ring twisting machines. Two for one twisting offers fewer knots per kilogram of yarn, eliminates cone winding, and reduces the number of yarn breaks and loom stoppages during weaving. Balloonless twisting machines are optimal for the manufacture of spandex twisted yarn for stretch denim. The Saurer Group's three for one twisting system, which features two counter rotating systems on bearings, operates at maximum spindle speeds of 10,000 rpm with an effective twist insertion rate of 30,000 twists per minute. It is suitable for low twist per inch, acrylic, and worsted yarns.
