Salmoiraghi SpA installed an automatic bobbin handling system at Brilen SA, a spinning mill in Barbastro, Spain, for the manufacture of partially oriented yarns, drawtwisted yarns, and industrial yarns. The system consists of a line of feed carriages with exit, entrance, and dispatching zones; auxiliary equipment to protect and organize the feed carriages; a transport line that labels, inspects, and wraps the products in a high density polyethylene film; and a packaging line for shipping. The system is notable for its use of a robotic arm to transfer the bobbins from one line to the next and to pack the bobbins in containers.
