Yarn manufacturers require spinning machines to offer low installation and production costs, high and uniform quality, high reliability, easy handling and operation, and flexibility. Zimmer AG's BN100 ring spinning machine with radial quenching initially manufactured 1.8 kilograms of yarns per minute and offered a 40 percent savings in production costs over the BN74 spinning machine. Later developments improved its throughput to 4.5 kilograms per minute, with potential throughput of more than 6.0 kilograms per minute, and reduced operating costs by 25 negative chimney effects. Quenching from the inside and outside prevents wrapping due to blowouts and removes monomers during extrusion.
