A staple yarn spinning mill in Germany uses ring and rotor spinning machinery to produce 12 million kilograms of yarn per year, including seven different ring spun yarns and six different rotor spun yarns. Ring spun yarn counts range from Nm 20-100 and rotor spun yarn counts range from Nm 5-70. Mill infrastructure includes quality monitoring, technical laboratory and staff, materials transport system, and a warehousing system that operates on a first in, first out basis. The spinning operations require 120 workers. Such management functions as raw material purchasing require three workers. A production planning and control system regulates all spinning processes.
